You spend a lot of time in your master bathroom, so you want it to be as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. This is the room of the house where you should feel free to splurge a little, as the little indulgences you can add will make your master bathroom better for you and more appealing to potential buyers down the road. Three indulgences are a must: separate vanities, heated floors, and a Jacuzzi tub.
If you and your spouse are tripping over each other every morning because there is only one sink in the master bathroom, you know how great it would be if you each had your own sink and vanity where you can store your personal care products and get ready for work without anyone getting in the way. Separate vanities are a must, so make sure that you go over all the different options for them with your bathroom remodeling contractor.

No matter how large your bathroom is, there never seems to be enough storage. If you have a small bathroom in your home, finding adequate storage space for all your bathroom supplies can be quite a challenge.
You can truly maximize your bathroom’s space by remodeling your bathroom while keeping storage solutions specifically in mind. Built-in cabinets are a convenient and stylish storage solution. If you install built-in bathroom cupboards, you can store your personal items and linens right where you need them. If you have a pedestal sink, consider switching to a counter sink. The counter space below will help you organize a crowded bathroom. Another solution is to get rid of your bathtub. If you and your family take daily showers and rarely or never bathe, switch to a shower-only unit. Your bathroom space will be greatly increased when you get rid of the tub.

Homeowners who are remodeling their bathrooms have the benefit of an almost endless number of fixture choices that can improve the appearance of their bathrooms and make them more suitable to the needs of those who live in the home.
One of the most important fixtures for the bathroom is the sink, and there are several varieties on the market for homeowners. Besides the traditional drop-in sinks, which are generally the least expensive option, there are also undermount sinks and even vessel sinks that look like large bowls sitting on top of the counter. These vessel sinks are increasingly popular with homeowners and house hunters alike because of their unique look. Undermount sinks make bathroom counters easy to clean, and they should definitely be installed by a professional as improper installation can cause water damage to counters and harm the pipes and water lines. Pedestal sinks are yet another option, and are especially good for any half-bathrooms in the home.

Remodeling a bathroom is a great way to brighten up a home and increase its resale value. Even those who do not have a lot of money to invest in a bathroom remodel can still make changes to their bathrooms. Inexpensive, small bathroom remodeling projects can give these important rooms a whole new look.
There are four main types of small bathroom remodeling projects. The first one is probably also the least expensive — a new paint job. By repainting the walls of a bathroom, the homeowner can bring it up to date and incorporate colors that are more popular in today’s world than those colors of years past that might be on the bathroom walls in the present.

Does your bathtub look like a left-over remnant from the 1970s? Does it look dirty, even when you scrub it until your back hurts? If either of these is true, you can bring it back to life with a bathtub refinishing kit. Here is what you’ll need to do:
Clean Thoroughly: This if the first step. Remove all loose caulking and gaskets and any other “debris” you can.
Apply First Chemical Cleaner: Most bathtub refinishing kits come with a few chemicals; a few for cleaning. Apply the first chemical cleaner, scrubbing with sandpaper. This removes all soaps and oils, which prepares the tub for the primer to be added later.

Painting your bathroom is one of the easiest, most cost-effective ways to give it a new look. But, choosing a paint color can be a real conundrum if you have no idea how to go about it. Following are three things to consider that will help make selecting a color easier.
Size Matters: The size of your bathroom matters when it comes to choosing a paint color. Most interior decorators will advise you to choose colors that make your space appear larger, for this is what many want. However, if your bathroom is large (lucky you!), you may want to make it appear smaller and/or more intimate.
So use this rule of thumb: Lighter colors make a space appear larger, while darker colors shrink a space.

There are many ways to go green in your home. And the kitchen and bathroom, as the most used rooms in a home, are natural places to start. With this in mind, here we will focus on the bathroom – specifically the toilet.
The Inefficiency of the Average Toilet
According to the book, Greeniology: How to Live Well, Be Breen and Make a Difference, “Nearly one-third of the water we use at home is flushed down the toilet.”
This makes sense when you consider that the average toilet uses 1.6 gallons of water – per flush! If your family is just average size, you can see how this really adds up to a lot of water usage.
Now, let’s consider an environmentally friendly option like a composting toilet.

According to home décor experts, the average cost to remodel a bathroom can run anywhere from $5,000 on up to $30,000, depending on how extensive the remodel is. Even a scaled-down remodel can cost upwards of $10,000.
A lot of the money spent on a bathroom remodeling project is the cost of materials. Following are three ways to save on this.

The size of your bathroom will dictate, to a large degree, the style of shower door you select. Here we will discuss three options: one for small baths, one for mid-size baths, and one for larger bathrooms. This will make your selection much easier.
For Larger Baths: Swinging Shower Doors
Swinging shower doors are ideal for larger bathrooms. They add a breezy, sophisticated look to any bath.
Swinging shower doors range in widths from 36 to 48 inches. Secured with a magnetic latch, swinging shower doors can be made to swing in only one direction or in both directions. And, they come as one panel or two fixed panels.
One thing to keep in mind if you select this type of shower door: consider the path of the swing of the door before installing. You want to leave enough room so that it doesn’t hit sinks, tissue racks or toilets.
