Oh the luxury of a large bathroom – Jacuzzi tubs, steam showers, double-vanity sinks. You can have the works. While this is utopia, small bathrooms can be just as luxurious. All you have to do is maximize the space you have.
Following are two small bathroom remodeling tips that can turn your mini space into a slice of heaven.
Do Away with the Shower/Tub Combo: Why would you want to do that? So that you can replace it with a roomy, spa-like shower instead. Invest in a high-end tile to really make the space “pop” visually. Then add beautiful fixtures for a finishing touch.
After all of this, it will barely register that the tub is gone.
Ditch the Cabinet under the Sink: This small bathroom remodeling tip does not go over very well with many. But, consider this – smaller spaces get dwarfed by too much furniture.
Your bathroom will feel cramped and not very inviting. A pedestal sink, for example, gives you more room to maneuver and it looks better in small bathrooms. But, you may be thinking, “What about storage?” That’s easy.
Put a floor-to-ceiling shelving unit behind the toilet. You can also use a decorative basket or two under the pedestal sink to store, for example, extra bathroom supplies like toilet paper, soap and air freshener. One thing about small bathrooms is that they force you to be judicious in how you use a space.
Small Bathroom Remodeling Tip to Remember
The smaller the space, the more luxurious it should be. With a focus on luxury, size becomes less important.

Without a doubt, small bathrooms are easier to renovate than large bathrooms—that should be pretty obvious. But what many homeowners don’t know is that they are not exponentially easier to renovate. Small baths still have the same basic services as large baths (unless we’re dealing with a powder room or guest bathroom), but just on a different scale.
